    Commercial growth reshapes Broken Arrow into thriving community
    The city of Broken Arrow could be described as a sleeping giant that has finally awakened over the past six years. For decades this Tulsa suburb experienced limited commercial and retail development as retailers felt not enough population density was in Broken Arrow to justify expansion into the community. Furthermore, these retailers felt the city was being served by the extensive retail centers located in the area around Woodland Hills in southeast Tulsa. 

    Commission gives Global preliminary OK for racing, gaming licenses
    Global Gaming moved a step closer to taking over Remington Park Thursday, as the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission gave Global preliminary approval of its application for racing and gaming licenses.

    Construction rental company to open in OKC
    A Volvo Rents construction equipment rental company is scheduled to open in Oklahoma City on Jan. 1, and the local franchisee plans to open other sites in Tulsa and Wichita, Kan.

    Development in Norman soars to new heights
    Being in the spotlight is nothing new for the Oklahoma City suburb of Norman. Thanks to the success of the University of Oklahoma’s football and basketball programs in recent years, the city receives constant attention from the national media. However, Norman has more going on than just top-rated sports teams. Over the past decade, the city has emerged as one of the strongest commercial real estate markets in the entire Oklahoma City metro area, boasting some of the highest occupancies, lease rates and sales prices.

    Helmerich profits drop, but top expectations
    Shares of Helmerich and Payne dropped 2 percent Thursday after the drilling contractor posted double-digit earnings and revenue declines for both its fiscal year and fourth quarter, beating Wall Street estimates. “It could be several more quarters before we see significant growth in comparisons for year over year,” said Oklahoma City securities analyst Greg Womack. “But for now it appears they are controlling costs, improving margins and their balance sheet, and that’s all you can ask for in this market.”

    Judge scolds attorneys in poultry case
    A federal judge scolded the 30-some attorneys on Oklahoma’s pollution case against the Arkansas poultry industry Thursday, accusing them of bombarding him with “thousands” of documents as the bench trial dragged into its 25th day.
